Academy success hinges on their QB more than most
Having a QB that can get 4+ on every down and once in a while complete a pass makes their offense work and keeps their d off the field which helps negate the usual skill position advantage other teams have.
Look at navy this year. Their QB most of the year was a running back who could break long runs but couldn't get 4+ every down. Too many no gains on first and they can't keep going. Their success was when they had great QB play.
